Exactly What We Don't Want To Hear

Somedays it is tough living in a reality based world.

At the Thursday White House Press briefing Tony Snow said,

"Now, when the United States walked away [from invading Iraq after liberating Kuwait], in the opinion of Osama bin Laden in 1991, bin Laden drew from that the conclusion that Americans were weak and wouldn't stay the course, and that led to September 11th. "

Wow, what an intesting comment. I wonder who Tony is blaming for causing 9/11. Could it be Dick Cheney?

"And the question in my mind is how many additional American casualties is Saddam worth?" Cheney said then in response to a question. "And the answer is not very damned many. So I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the president made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."

So the question is, did Dick Cheney encourage bin Laden to plan and execute 9/11, or is Tony Snow an insane jackass? Their boss ought to fire at least one of those guys.
