[ I am breaking with tradition to edit the language of this post. I'm still pissed off at the events I described, but I could have said it better.]

Wow, what a week. First, The Big Dog was on Faux News Sunday and handed Chris Wallace his ass. It was obvious Wallace was prepared for a typical fox interview, not a real interview. It was brilliant to see the President call bullshit on Fox and Bush and his War in Iraq. I don’t watch Fox every day, but I do read about it and watch it on the Internet. I haven’t heard that they had any Democrats on there this week. Fox must worried they will get another ass kicking that reinforces Clinton, so until they can up the oxycontin dose on their viewers they’ll be more unbalanced than usual.

Clinton tried to get Bin Laden, didn’t get him, and admitted he failed. Bush, he had eight months to try, had an intelligence report from his professional staff that told him bin Laden was going to strike the US, but, well, there was a real shrubbery problem at the ranch that needed attention.

Bush was the president for eight months before the attack. What did he do? Not a damn thing. We gave Bush a pass on his failure so he would be free to fight terror. Our country came together (Uniter, not divider, remember that? ) to go after al Queada after 9/11. But rather than finish the job, he took a detour to Iraq.

Why are we fighting in Iraq? Weapons of mass destruction? Nope. While we were looking for those, and guarding the oil wells for Halliburton, the armories were left open and looted. The weapons stolen during that time are used today by the guys who are blowing up Iraq and our troops. Whose idea was that, Rummy? Iraq was behind the 9/11 attack? No? Saddam hated bin Laden more than Bush did pre-9/11 and wanted to kill him more than Bush did. Hmmm, OK, all we have left is Saddam was an evil dictator who tortures and rapes. POTUS can do that now too.

That leaves us with we’re in Iraq because we’re in Iraq. Good answer. We also found out this week that the Executive branch is sitting on a couple of reports that conclude that the US in Iraq is good for terrorist recruiting (duh!). And the Taliban is making a come back in Afghanistan. I have to ask, do these guys have any brains or any sense? Does everything Bush touches turn to shit? Either get get out of there and let the Iraqi’s take over or get a draft going here so we can send over another 600,000 troops and win. Staying the course is not a plan, it is insanity. You need a better plan. You need A plan.

The US Senate I thought was a deliberative body. Sitting in puffy leather chairs, drinking scotch and groping interns (we’ll get to that), the Senate is a gentleman’s club. No need to be rash and hasty like the House. Debate issues, give and take, and temper the nonsense that comes from the house. But no, this week, they threw caution to the wind and gave us the decidedly un-American Rape and Torture Act, with the special “go to prison without a trial” clause. What kind of country gives its executive the power to jail people indefinitely without oversight, without trial, without even accusation of a crime? I suppose I’ll find out when they read this blog. Yesterday was a bad day for our country.

Are we disgusted with the GOP and their “values” yet? Their leaders gave us a lot of talk about protecting kids from Internet perverts, but when one of their own is the perv they “talk to him about it?” WTF? They spent $70 M investigating Clinton because he [had an affair] from a grown woman [she was 22 years old, well past the age of majority everywhere], yet they let Representative Mark Foley (R-Pedophilia) run wild for at least a year while the Speaker of the House knew, and they did NO investigation? If they can't even protect a 16 year old page from a known pedophile who is a member of their own party, then how are we supposed to believe they can protect the American People from Osama Bin Laden?

Can’t we let adults run the country again?
