Stop Killing Irony

In the same week that accused Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk is deported to Germany for war crime prosecution Dick Cheney and his henchmen make the rounds on the TV talk shows defending Cheney's leadership in committing the very same war crimes. And none of those TV knuckleheads call them on it. Cheney is either very evil, a robot, or a very evil robot. But he still deserves a fair trial.

These very same TV talkers are all a twitter now because some people say that in 2002 Nancy Pelosi may have had a secret briefing regarding Torquemada Cheney's activities to secure "confessions" that Iraq was behind the September 11 attacks. FIrst, it's really unlikely that the Administration briefed any members of congress, Republicans or Democrats, on anything it was doing because the Administration believed that oversight did not apply to it in any way. See unitary executive. Second, even if she was briefed, what was she going to do? She's one member of Congress with secret information. Who's she going to tell, other members of Congress? Would they believe her? Maybe the public? You think the Administration wouldn't have tossed her in Guantanamo for divulging state secrets? These TV people sure have a short memory, forgetting how the Administration ignored every call for accountability and just about every previous Constitutional precedent for such.

I think we need to have a closer look at the Cheney Energy Task Force and determine whether stealing Iraqi oil was Cheney's plan ever since he arrived at the White House.
